B-Park is a 32,000 m² shopping centre entirely devoted to the family. It covers a 16-hectare site with 14 medium-sized stores varying in surface area from 1,000 to 4,000 m2. There are shops dedicated to sport, equipment for the home and for personal use, an Auto 5 workshop, as well as a Carrefour hypermarket and a Lunch Garden restaurant. Hence, there is varied offer of stores complementing those in Bruges’ town centre.

What makes the contemporary architecture really stand out is the 4-metre wide illuminated awning, comprised of polycarbonate panels that serve as an advertising medium.

The clear height inside the shops exceeds 7 metres allowing mezzanines to be installed, while the internal space includes a minimum number of columns. This layout is a first in Belgium and allows total flexibility in terms of fitting out the space.

The B-Park building is highly energy-efficient owing to the careful management of natural resources: maximum natural light thanks to continuous high bay windows, high-performance insulation (K21), solar panels on the roof, rainwater collection, etc…
